Bears running back Garrett Wolfe said he received a $7,500 fine for his horse-collar tackle in last Saturday's 32-17 preseason loss to the Raiders.
Wolfe was flagged 15 yards after pulling down Raiders kick returner Rock Cartwright. Wolfe's play actually might have helped save a touchdown as Cartwright turned the corner for 37 yards.
I watched this live and at the time I didn’t think this was a horse collar. Maybe a little in the front of Cartwright’s jersey, but certainly not enough for a flag and definitely not enough for a fine. Garrett Wolfe is barely making more than the girl who gave me my venti soy latte this morning so a $7,500 fine means no Christmas this year for his kids.
On another note, how awesome am I for saving this game on the DVR for 5 days while it sat there eating up precious space usually reserved for The Bad Girls Club. This is the kind of post that makes all my painstaking, knuckle-breaking effort worthwhile. (chibreakingsports)
