Tomlinson finally admits he’s finished in San Diego.

 

 

Well, isn’t that freaking wonderful? He spent the entire last offseason desperately trying to convince fantasy football owners he was still the best RB in football, including making the above video just to silence his ‘critics’. I smartly realized after starting 0-6, that juuuuust maybe I should trade his old, busted ass, which I did and proceeded to finish the season at 6-8. Not that you care. Or should. Not that Tomlinson cares about the thousands of fantasy owners he helped demolish because we dared believe a slick, seemingly honest video. Damn you to hell LaDainian Tomlinson!!

I hope he gets banished to the Raiders and has to walk around Oakland with a sign like Bruce Willis did at the beginning of Die Hard 3. I know that doesn’t make much sense, but neither did taking him with the overall #7 draft pick in my league based on a fucking video!!

Vikings fans don’t seem excited about Tarvaris Jackson in 2010.

This is exactly the right way to woo Brett Favre back to Minnesota, in my opinion. Publicly. He wants to know he’s loved, indeed he needs to know he’s loved, and this is a terrific start.

Is all that extra weight going to help Dale Earnhardt Jr.?

Whoa. I guess when you have won only 3 Sprint Cup races in the last 5 years, you might need to shake things up?

Earnhardt looks as if he has packed on at least 30 pounds in the offseason. Plus, I guess the beard is supposed to make him look tougher(?), but it really just makes him resemble a character from Sesame Street.

Maybe he’s trying to ditch the ‘most popular driver’ label that has ‘haunted’ him his entire career. Or perhaps he thinks a lower center of gravity will help him stick to the track instead of drifting high in the turns like usual?

I suppose with the relaxed new regulations regarding driver conduct, the beard will help him better absorb a Kyle Busch left hook.

Devin Hester must read Clubhouse Cancer.

I think the thing I hate most about sports blogging is the constant need to promote oneself, something at which I do not excel, but hey…when I’m right, I’m right.

Today on the ‘Waddle & Silvy Show’ on ESPN 1000 radio in Chicago, Devin Hester claimed he would “love” to get back to focusing on the return game, if that’s what Bears head coach Lovie Smith asks of him in 2010.

“I know what I’m best at,” Hester said Thursday, “The return game is my bread and butter, so if I had to cut back on my receiving and go back to returning, that’s something I would love to do.”

Simply judging a book by its cover, I was excited, yet skeptical of Hester when he was drafted by the Bears. With his long dreads and his reppin’ the ‘U’, combined with coming to a town like Chicago, which has eaten up more than its fair share of young athletes, I thought we might have some ‘character issues’ on our hands. However, nothing could be further from the truth.

Hester has been a model citizen and teammate, who will seemingly do anything and everything to help his team.

“I would love to get back in that situation with the return game,” Hester reiterated. “But at the same time, I’m a team player so wherever y’all want me to go, I’m ready to do it.”

This is what makes a guy like Joe Montana the best there ever was. “The Catch” is literally the only thing Dwight Clark is, justifiably, remembered for and Joe still won’t give it to him. That’s flat awesome.
