When he leaves the Cavs after the 09-10 season to join the Knicks (yeah, I said it) LeBron James will switch from the #23 to the #6 in honor of his personal lord and savior, Michael Jordan.
“I just think what Michael Jordan has done for the game has to be recognized some way soon,” James said. “There would be no LeBron James, no Kobe Bryant, no Dwyane Wade if there wasn’t Michael Jordan first.
“If you see 23, you think about Michael Jordan. You see game-winning shots, you think about Michael Jordan; you see guys fly through the air, you think about Michael Jordan; you see fly kicks, you think about Michael Jordan. He did so much, it has to be recognized, and not just by putting him in the Hall of Fame.”
I can’t disagree with him there. When I see fly kicks, I can’t help but think about Mike myself. But does this mean LeBreezy doesn’t have respect for Tom Barker, Walter Dukes, Ray Ellefson, Matt Fish, Tom Gola, George Kaftan, or Trent Tucker, all Knick number sixes before him? (hey if you’re gonna do this, you gotta do a little research)
That also means he isn’t coming to Philly, Sixer fans. (tribune)
