It only took six full seasons before A Rod did something worthy of being called a New York Yankee. Sure, he has won two MVP awards…big deal. Those are forever tainted not only superficially by the specter of steroids, but indelibly by the zero World Series rings produced.
But now he finally hit a clutch, really clutch post season home run. Finally. No longer can he be derisively called “Mr. May”. The man missed the first five weeks of the 2009 season, and still hit 30 HR’s and drove in 100 runs.
It will be sweet to see Kate Hudson wearing that humongous World Series ring on a chain around her neck. Madonna will so jealous.
