Looks like Rodney Harrison, NBC’s latest athlete turned critic, is trying to ratchet up his brand recognition with his latest attack, this time on his longtime teammate and NFL meal ticket Tom Brady.
Harrison said on NBC’s Football Night in America: “Tom Brady, if you’re listening…Take off the skirt and put on some slacks. Toughen up.” (see video above)
I actually suspect Brady told him to do it, knowing how much internet sanctimony would explode in the wake. Brady can’t pick up his mail without TMZ sending out texts alerts, so he would realize how something like this can only help the new Rodney Harrison ‘brand’.
It’s following the pattern actually. Have a nice NFL career, get a network position, sling bombs back at your former team, get your own reality show/sitcom.
Bettis, Strahan, Barber, Irvin, etc…all going back to the Godfather of the Name Brand…“Prime Time” Neon Deion Sanders.
Who knew Rodney Harrison, as tough a badass who ever played in the NFL, wanted that badly to be on Dancing With The Stars?
