Some guy who worked at the cryogenics facility at which baseball legend Ted Williams’ severed head is stored has come out with a book (natch) and in it he claims Williams frozen head has been as mistreated as a Kevin Gregg fastball. zing!
From ESPN:
In "Frozen," Larry Johnson, a former executive at the Alcor Life Extension Foundation in Scottsdale, Ariz., writes that Williams' head, which had been severed and frozen for storage, was abused at the facility. Johnson claims a technician took baseball-like swings at Williams' frozen head with a monkey wrench.
I have often heard that there were on two American athletes who can be argued as the best in the country in two different events at different times in their lives. One is Jim Brown. He was the best football player, perhaps ever, and he was easily the best lacrosse player in the nation when he was at Syracuse. This other is Ted Williams with baseball, and later in his life, deep sea fishing, for which he won many national trophies. Now his frozen head is getting abused by some scumbag at a facility to which he paid good money because he couldn’t imagine his own mortality. He can’t even spin in his grave.
