Normally, the headline would be…‘USA wins silver’…but not in this particular case. These young women will forever have to live with the fact that they were considered so unbeatable the Olympics is ditching the sport rather than watch them dominate…and they lost the last game in Olympic history, to Japan no less.
Team USA is comprised of the most elite competitors in the history of the sport, and they are gonna take this loss hard, as any true athlete should.
One of the odd things about the Olympics in the last 30 years or so. Japan, like many countries, will consider this a national victory over the capitalistic Western devils…and here in America, we shrug and change the channel to The Price Is Right.
Losing pitcher Cat Osterman can find solace in the fact she is coming back to her assistant coaching gig in Chicago where we welcome our failed sports heroes back with open arms.
We know of a couple of 16” teams she could play for and then drown her sorrows afterwards in as many bottles of Lone Star as it takes.
