Say goodbye to drunken halftime partial nudity, Jets fans. Now, people heading to the Meadowlands Sports Complex can expect fewer hours for tailgating under new rules regarding alcohol and fan behavior.
AP is reporting that Parking lots for Giants Stadium will open five hours before events, instead of seven.
In addition, season ticketholders who are ejected from the stadium or arena will have their tickets revoked, the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority announced Tuesday.
This is all in response to hundreds of complaints about the debaucherous halftime antics known as a ‘Gate D Party’ at the Meadowlands during Jets halftime where men, sometimes lined up three-deep, used to participate in an obscenity-laced chant, demanding that the few women in the area expose their breasts.
Hey, we’re all for some spontaneous good-natured boobage…but hundreds of drunken fools chanting and harassing women crosses quite a few lines. Isn’t it preferable when the flashing is voluntary?
Since the Jets are a little more high-profile these days than in the recent past…this kind of behavior is rapidly becoming a no-no.
