Running back LaMont Jordan was released by Oakland with two years remaining on his contract Friday, saving the Raiders $3.3 million against the salary cap. Oakland signed Jordan in 2005, but he never developed into the elite back the team envisioned. He carried the ball just 19 times in the final nine games last season. He also had to put up with Al Davis’ nonsense.
Saturday, Jordan was picked up by the New England Patriots, who haven’t lost a regular season game since 2006. He might now have to put up with Bill Belichick’s nonsense, but he also gets to play for probably the best overall franchise in sports, and he won’t need an interpreter to understand his QB’s ‘English’.
Plus, he’ll probably get to meet Giselle…and who doesn’t want that?
