Favre requests release from Packers.
Plenty of sports media are posting that ‘former’ Green Bay Packers QB Brett Favre “has the itch” to play in the NFL in 2008.
Big deal. Favre is a drama-queen crybaby attention-whore who eats all this up with a spoon.
But only The Wisconsin State Journal is reporting that within the last few weeks, Favre (or his agent) has asked the Packers for his unconditional release, so as to pursue a deal with any team he desires.
Earlier today, Favre’s presumptive replacement Aaron Rodgers showed his exasperation with the ongoing media circus revolving around the Packers’ QB position.
“I don’t need to sell myself to fans. They need to get on board now or keep their mouths shut,” Rodgers is quoted as saying.
Did Rodgers know about Favre’s release request…or is he just trying to force a trade if #4 does return?
Either way…Packer fans won’t be forgetting about ‘ol Brett anytime soon.
