Longtime St. Louis Rams owner Georgia Frontiere’s heirs have put the team up for sale, according to a report on Yahoo! Sports.
“I know that they are definitely in play,” former San Francisco 49ers owner Eddie DeBartolo told the website. “Georgia’s kids (son Chip Rosenbloom and daughter Lucia Rodriguez) have decided to sell the team. I’ve talked to some people who are brokering things, and they’ve told me about the price and what the deal might entail.”
Reportedly DeBartolo, who has never gotten over having to sell the 49ers to his sister’s hubby because of his strong, unquestioned mob ties, will purchase the Rams and move them back to Los Angeles, where the team resided from 1946-1994.
Obviously a new stadium deal will have to be in place before DeBartolo gets involved further, but it will be nice to have the Rams back in L.A.
Let's face it, a hillbilly cow-town like St. Louis doesn’t even deserve an NFL franchise.
The toughest sumbitch in the history of Los Angeles sports wants his team back where it belongs.
