Now that Jason Taylor’s name recognition is higher than normal and he has plenty of sleazy Hollywood types whispering sweet nothings into his grill, it must be time to start making demands and issuing threats to the people that actually PAY HIS SALARY!
Yahoo! sports is reporting that Wayne Huizenga promised Taylor and mini-Urlacher, Zach Thomas they could both leave via free agency or trade after the 2007 season. Thomas is already gone, and now Taylor has made his feelings known to the Dolphins that he wants to be traded, or he might just make the jump to the silver screen.
Think Dwayne Johnson without all that pesky acting “talent”. Think an 21st Century, multi-ethnic Brian Bosworth. (if Taylor ever makes a movie as amazing as “Stone Cold”, we'll shit in a box) Though, with network & cable TV going all-reality, all-the-time, he might actually have a 2-3 season TV career in him.
Jason Taylor is a football player. A very good football player. He needs to remember that one is only allowed to be a professional athlete for a finite time, and you need to make the absolute most of it before you have to settle for something else. He gets the next 40 years to work on his post-football career as a “personality”.
We see him as a frequent “special guest” on Dancing With the Stars in the coming years, and then maybe as a “correspondent” for Access Hollywood covering things like…the Super Bowl…that’s if he’s very lucky.
